VibeTab is a browser extension that replaces your new tab page with animated abstract graphics. This privacy policy explains how we handle data in our extension.

Data Collection and Usage

Local Storage

• What we store: User preferences including animation mode, speed settings, density settings, color theme preferences, and performance metrics display preferences
• Where it's stored: Locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API
• Purpose: To remember your preferred settings between browser sessions
• Data sharing: This data never leaves your device and is not shared with any third parties

No Remote Data Collection

• VibeTab does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on remote servers
• No user analytics, tracking, or telemetry data is collected
• No network requests are made to external servers
• All functionality operates entirely offline within your browser

Permissions

Storage Permission

• Purpose: Save and retrieve user preference settings
• Scope: Limited to extension settings only
• Data type: Animation preferences, visual settings, performance options

New Tab Override

• Purpose: Replace the default new tab page with animated graphics
• Scope: Only affects new tab pages, no other browsing data is accessed

Data Security

• All data remains local to your browser
• No transmission of data to external servers
• Settings data is stored using Chrome's secure storage API
